This is my presentation of a very hard and sad year which passed, but let behind many questions and worries. I wish you all much health, faith, hope and if is possible, Joy. In the end, I want to congratulate all artists which with talent and sensibility increase in their art a very powerful message.
1 What is your name and where are you from? My name is Siucar and I live in Southern France, near the Mediterranean sea. 2 How long have you been active on DA? It’s been seven years now since I submitted my first picture on DA ! I can’t even remember what kind of photography it was but, basically, I know that I’m seven years older, now... ^^’ 3 How did you start photography? My first picture was taken with a tablet computer, in Scotland ! It was love at the first sight ! I’ve never stopped taking pictures since that moment... 4 What does DA bring to your photographic work? It’s a broad question ! First of all, DA allowed me to show my photographic work and created exchanges around these images that I wanted to share with others. Most importantly, the people I met there allowed me to learn more about photography training. They showed me how to ask myself what I wanted to express in my photos, how I could do it and the way to create an emotion, a feeling in the eyes
1 - What is your name and where are you from? Hello! I am Steve Tryon aka Pearwood. I am a photographer, walker, and sometime paddler, a theologically-educated geek living in Rochester, NY. Once upon a time I was an Army helicopter jockey in Alaska. The photograph was taken of me by my brother @Observer14 at the start of the Appalachian Trail back in February. I set up the Argus C3 and handed it to him to take the picture. 2 - How long have you been active on DA? A bunch of years ago (February 2001) my evil gamemaster son pulled me into a PBEM (play by email) game where I took the part of Radagast the hobbit, who had somehow acquired a staff of sentient pearwood. When I signed on to deviantArt in 2005, Radagast was already spoken for as a user name. So I went with Pearwood. The painting below, "Radagast's Tea Time" is by @AniaMohrbacher based on @Spielorjh's version of my introduction in the game. I posted this photograph my first day on deviantArt. I took it with a Kodak
1 What is your name and where are you from? My name is Lukasz Palka. I am born in Poland, raised in the US, and currently living in Japan. 2 How long have you been active on DA? I’ve been on DA since 2006. 3 How did you start photography? When I came to Tokyo in 2008, I had a simple camera that I barely used. Over my first year in the city, I realized I needed motivation to go out and explore it deeply, so I bought a more ‘serious’ camera and it all grew from there. 4 What does DA bring to your photographic work? In my early years of photography, I got a lot of feedback from other great photographers here on DA. In particular the group called The Yard was very helpful. Nowadays, feedback is still nice, but mainly I like the community feel of DA, and its ease of use for messaging and viewing artwork. DA is now just part of my daily ritual: I log on, I see what’s need in my feed, I reply to comments, once a week or so I post some new photos, rinse repeat. I like that. 5
1 What is your name and where are you from? Hello, I am PhodorIzi. Izi is a nickname from Isabelle and Phodor comes from my family name Fodor, a Hungarian family name, even if I am French. I live in the southwest of France, nearby the Pyrenees mountains. 2 How long have you been active on DA? I've been on DA for two years. I will always be grateful to my neighbor and friend for making me discover DA. Here is the very first picture I have posted on DA 3 How did you start photography? Photography and me is a long story, and I don't really remember when it started... Maybe twenty years ago, the fisrt time I've tried to do anything other than family or hollydays pictures, when I joined the photoclub of Muret? Or maybe, the first time I owned a real digital camera, 12 years ago, at this Xmas, when my husband bought me my first Canon? Or maybe five years ago, when I started shooting in RAW and developing my photos with Lightroom. I feel like there's no beginning and no ending to
1 What is your name and where are you from? Ben Loveday. I'm from South Australia, on the opposite side of the earth to most of you. I live in the Adelaide Hills, just to the east of my State's Capital: Adelaide, the home of the World's best wine, and the Australian Space Agency. 2 How long have you been active on DA? Only about 3 years. My account is 13 years old but I forgot about it for the first 10 years because I was active on another site. 3 How did you start photography? I have no idea; I think I was a teenager, and just got a camera somehow. I didn't even think of myself as a photographer: just a kid with a camera hobby. That was in the days of film, when it cost me 20 cents per photo, so I was very careful to get a good shot. Nowadays I still think of myself as a kid with a camera, but I usually take 500-1000 digital shots in a day's hike in the bush or around the city. 4 What does DA bring to your photographic work? The main thing is that DA allows me to connect to
