13 angels on my broken windowsill by chriseastmids 13 angels on my broken windowsill by chriseastmids
when angels sit there, they gather, they watch the world go by, and now theres 13 waiting ...

(i still get rather annoyed that people continue to challenge my work being dramatically altered in Photoshop, i was once told by a photographer that "photoshop is your darkroom so use it as you would a darkroom" ... ive used a darkroom before ... this picture was taken with my fisheye and only slightly straightened in Photoshop as i unfortunately dont have bubble level with me when out with my camera, but i really really wanted to show that my work is good as it is)

For heavens sake, what does it matter how to achieve something, as long as you are happy with the outcome. There is far too much do this/don't do that in the art world. Does it bloody matter how things are created? I firmly believe we all have a right to achieve what we can, in any way we can, and with all aids available. Surely it should be first and foremost about getting enjoyment from what we do, an NOBODY should be made to feel, they have to prove themselves. It kills all creativity and makes you lose the soul and spirit, you otherwise would put into any given piece of work.
Shame have those who thinks themselves above the rest of us. Crack on my dear friend, and carry on as you see fit. I for one love your work, and you have been one of my greatest sources of inspiration since I clapped eyes on your work. Also you are never afraid to advice or share what you know - so thank you so very much :iconbigheartplz:

I know, and please don't take those who can't accept that serious. There is a lot of green eyed monsters out there. I firmly believe, that if the tools are there, and one wish to use them, so bloody what. But the fact, that you are able to achieve a lot with little, is a hard one to swallow for some. Go boy go :tighthug:

This shot is great Chris! I love the sky in particular. It kind of feels like it's circling overhead.
I'd have called this one "Vertigo" :D

As for the Photoshop comments... well, it's your art so you, and you alone, do whatever you feel is needed to make the image pop. Your work has always looked pretty great to me.

Awesome work, sir!

There is nothing wrong to use ps. It's the same thing as a brush for the painter. You can copy reality or you can create emotion. As artist I would prefer the last one.

wow very nice indeed..... and if others are challenging you then it just meens your work is that good to have haters:) i to try not to do much to my stuff other then slight adjustments mostly in saturation or contrast and such. but as little as possible but if its a good idea or composition and just needs some help without manipulating the photo then i see nothing wrong with that. like your friend said ps is your darkroom and this is the digital world my friend so the point is to create images that are apealing is it not? so why hold yourself back from creation because of some closed minded old school holding onto some mantra of photography rules type people? thats why i am self taught totally and learn from trial and error. i try to capture my ideas and present them how my minds eye saw them. and somtimes i am plesently surprised by images that at first i thought wer bland untill i played with them and they woke up and turned into something meaningfull or at least cool to look at:) but i havent been hit by any haters yet so my work must not be as stunning as yours:) so i bow to you! keep doing what ya doing man!

many thanks for your words William, i try to let my spirit run free when taking my pictures, the use of f-stops and shutter speeds makes my pictures what they are, the correction process can be tiresome at times but it has to be done, i got a fisheye so i could get more of the sky in and so i have to straighten it out thank god for photoshop which makes all the processing so much easier .... you dont have to bow to me your work is great my friend :D
